This quote about boredom was actually written by Saul Steinberg but it may
just as well have been a life statement for Amber Henson, creator of the first
Soles Illimite' sandals. By her own declaration Amber hates to be bored.
Amber had returned to her native Jonesboro, Arkansas to attend the wedding
of her cousin. While "back home for the entire weekend" (a long time for
Amber) she found herself beginning to get bored and decided she "needed a
project." Couple this with the fact that she and her mother had searched the
town over for just the right footwear. Instead of allowing discouragement or
defeat to take over when nothing appropriate could be found, Amber's
creative, energetic personality kicked in and she turned necessity into
invention. Voila'…the creation of Soles Illimite' - uniquely designed fun but
elegant sandals were born! These premier Soles Illimite' sandals were an
instant hit from their first debut!
Requests for Soles Illimite' sandals literally poured in from family, friends and
retailers. The word was out about these fabulously unique treasures. Amber,
with the help of her brother, Shannon Henson (who became VP of the
company) and through the encouragement of her mother, Carrie Kennedy,
quickly established HIGH MAINTENANCE, INC.-parent company of Soles
Illimite'. New designs were created; patent, trademark and logo applications
were made and definitely none too soon. For in the first 8 weeks of this new
company Soles Illimite' had received orders for 5,000 pairs of these beauties.
Proof once again that word of mouth from satisfied customers is still be the
best advertising vehicle around! And the rest is history…
In addition to the successful business of Soles Illimite', Amber Henson is the
owner of A Party to Go-Go, Inc. a company designed to help with EVERY
ASPECT of producing the perfect party or wedding.
Her life has been strongly impacted by her mother Carrie, who Amber
describes as "the most amazing person I've ever met." Being raised by this
remarkable single mom instilled strong values such as…invest your time well;
be a person of integrity; and if something is worth doing-it is worth doing well!
